| Subject:
The subjects of the dissertations are intimately related to IÉSEG’s fields of teaching: economics, finance, marketing, management control, management, strategy, human resources etc.
They must be of sufficient breadth and complexity to justify 400 to 500 hours of work, and the preparation of a 100p. document.
Dissertations whilst frequently having a strong practical element must also have an “academic” dimension.
Description:
The dissertation is a piece of applied research, most often in response to an issue raised by a company or organisation.
Guidance during the dissertation is two-fold, involving a manager from the concerned organisation and an IÉSEG teacher. The teacher acts as an intermediary between the organisation, the students and the school.
The dissertation is prepared during the fifth year (from October to April) in parallel with classes.
Timetable:
The pre-dissertation consists of about a dozen pages laying-out the issue and the proposed approach, that is, including a work-plan and an initial bibliography.
