Training operational managers internationally
To adapt to the “3-5-8” re-organisation recommended by the declaration of Bologna, IESEG’s five-year programme has been designed in a 3 + 2 year format (Bachelor + MSc), thus enhancing its international dimension and professionalism.
In addition to fundamental subjects (sociology, history, quantitative techniques and economics) courses are also given in administration, finance, marketing and management. Most classes are taught in English to get the students accustomed the constraints of international business early-on.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

| Student’s inter personal skills are developed both through sports (individual and team motivation, respect, autonomy...) and through theatre techniques.
Sports activities take place in the 17-acre complex of the Catholic University of Lille; premises that are open to IESEG students at no extra charge.
The development of inter-personal skills and the ability to work in team are taken a step further in third year via a communication project. This enterprise aims at developing the students' capacity to conceive, build and promote a business/humanitarian venture.

ELECTIVES

In the bachelor programme, electives offered in third year provide students with an opportunity to study any field of interest.

In the MSc programme, electives are selected according to students’ professional plans. IESEG proposes six majors:
- - - - - - - |
marketing finance human resources management information systems management operations management audit and control a general option, with courses in all of the above areas, is proposed to those who wish to follow a more general managerial approach. |
TWO COMPULSORY LANGUAGES

English is compulsory for all students (except for English-speaking natives), as well as German, Spanish or Chinese as a second language. A third optional language is also possible between Spanish, Chinese or Italian.
THE EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM (ECTS)

IESEG operates the ECTS system, thus making the school’s programmes compatible with other universities' participating in our international exchange schemes.
The programme is also split into two semesters; this gives greater teaching flexibility and facilitates student exchanges with the 110 universities around the world with whom IESEG has tied strong curricular links.
ASSESSMENT

| Students’ skills and abilities are assessed by IESEG professors on a continuous basis, as well as via end-of-year examinations. Written and oral tests, viva voce, projects, individual and group work assess student skills and capacities to take-on managerial positions.
Continuation onto the next year depends on an overall average grade of at least 11/20. A subject average of 8/20 is eliminatory.
STUDY AND WORK EXPERIENCE ABROAD

From the third year onwards, students may study two to four semesters abroad and obtain a double diploma (MBA, MSc, MA) at one of the 136 universities part of the exchange programme.
Eight out of ten students currently participate in such exchanges.
All internships may be done abroad but students must acquire at least four months of experience internationally to validate their diploma.
INTERNSHIPS AND DISSERTATIONS

| The IESEG programme is punctuated by four internships in order to provide students with solid basis with regards to the workplace: “worker” and sales internships develop an understanding of human relationships and the selling process; “operational” and “managerial” internships develop students’ analytical and research skills, as well as their capacity to take-on responsibilities.
The six-month managerial internship may be done between or after two teaching semesters; it may also be combined with the applied research dissertation or the consulting project to gain significant work experience.
The final year dissertation is the practical and theoretical training's climax. It aims at developing students’ analytical, research, organisational and presentation skills, while dealing with real business situations.
